Age is the greatest enemy of female fame but some women handle it better than others. Nigella Lawson at 62 is a sight to behold, she actually looks younger and slimmer than she did in years gone by. Her to-die-for alabaster skin has left fans to wonder if she has had the help of plastic surgery to maintain her youthful appearance.

Nigella Lawson, a cookbook author, and television personality has been tempting foodies around the world with her delectable cuisine for nearly three decades, ever since her debut cookbook, How To Eat, was published in 1998.

In addition to her prowess in the kitchen, Nigella absolutely glows – she seems to defy aging as she is wrinkle-free even in her sixties. Fans are keen to know her beauty secrets/skincare routine and often question whether she has had the help of cosmetic procedures to get radiant, smooth skin.

Nigella Lawson Plastic Surgery

The mother-of-two Nigella Lawson once said that she hates having her looks talked up. But she often finds herself embroiled in plastic surgery speculations.

Why won’t she? At 62, Nigella still looks as gorgeous as she used to be in her forties. She has smooth, wrinkle-free radiant skin, and it seems that the aging has no effect on her skin at all.

Though a few fine lines appear on her face, the lack of any real wrinkles has led to speculation that she has had a tiny bit of baby-Botox in her forehead and subtle fillers in the nasolabial folds.

It has been widely suspected that the use of Botox and fillers is the cause of Nigella’s frozen and puffy appearance. Some fans also believe that the cookbook author uses liposuction to make her body slim down and stay in better shape. Additionally, people also accuse her of using eyelid surgery and lips implants.

Though Nigella’s plastic surgery speculation often makes rounds on the internet, the Domestic Goddess has never admitted to going under the knife in order to look beautiful and young.

However, in 2012, Nigella revealed the secret behind her weight loss – a bunion removal surgery. At the time, she said:

“I have indeed lost weight. Almost a year ago, I had a very glamorous operation – a double bunionisation. I couldn’t walk to the fridge afterwards.”

Although Nigella once admitted to having surgery for weight loss, she insists that her face is plastic-free. It seems her high-maintenance beauty regime – facials, fancy creams, silk pillows, and the rest – allows her often to pass for a woman two decades younger.

Nigella Lawson’s Beauty and Skincare Secrets

According to the TV chef, looking good comes from feeling healthy on the inside, regardless of your age. She says:

“I think what ages a face most is disappointment and a lack of enjoyment. So I try to do what I love.”

As far as skincare goes, Nigella likes Vaishaly Patel facial massage and products. In 2013, Belfast Telegraph reported that the cookbook author looks after her skin -+well with £220 facials by Vaishaly Patel at a Marylebone Clinic, and has her dark eyebrows professionally sculpted with threading treatments twice a year at £600 a pop.

Nigella actually credits eating lots of fats, especially omega-3 fatty acids, as one of the reasons she has such amazing skin. Her other skincare secret is simply avoiding the sun – something that any skincare junkie will know is crucial.

During a 2018 interview with The Sun,  the stunning TV cook revealed a particularly unique tip that raised many eyebrows. She admitted to using silicone gloves, worth just £10, to exfoliate her face. She said:

“I am the sucker who buys things. I recently bought some washing up gloves with silicone bits on the palm for scrubbing. I exfoliate with them. I like them.”

Despite the fact that Nigella’s bizarre beauty buy is a bargain, one must think twice before using silicone gloves to slough off the dead skin cells.

Celebrity cosmetic doctor Vincent Wong warned against Nigella’s cheap beauty trick saying the texture of the gloves was quite rough, and its use could actually be damaging the skin in the long run.
