Over the years, Bonnie has gone through heartbreaking moments. She felt cheated and disgusting after her husband, Tim, admitted to sending lewd text messages to female staff. Despite this, she stood by her man and move past it by forgiving her husband.
Here is everything you need to know about Bonnie Paine’s marriage, her husband’s sexting scandal, and what she said about the incident.
Bonnie Paine (nee Maggs) married Australian cricketer, Tim Paine, in April 2016. The lovebirds tied the knot after dating each other for over five years.
The two said “I do” in a breathtakingly memorable way at Home Hill Winery, Ranelagh, Tasmania. Bonnie’s father proudly escorted the blushing bride down the aisle, and the happy couple exchanged vows in a simple and romantic ceremony filled with the story of how they met and fell madly in love.
This year, Bonnie and her husband celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary. The sexting scandal of Tim has made their relationship more strong than ever.
The couple shares two children with her husband – Milla and Charlie Paine.
After a historical sexting controversy became public, Bonnie’s husband stepped down as Australia’s Test captain less than three weeks out from the Ashes. The veteran wicketkeeper was named in a News Corp report for texting explicit messages to a female co-worker.
According to Tim, he sent text messages to a former Cricket Tasmania staffer in late 2017 – a few months before he was named Test captain in March 2018.

“Although exonerated (by a Cricket Australia Integrity Unit investigation), I deeply regretted this incident at the time and still do today. I spoke to my wife and family at the time and am enormously grateful for their forgiveness and support.”
“I’ve been blessed with a wonderful, loving and supportive family, and it breaks my heart to know how much I’ve let them down. They have always stood by me, been my most loyal fans, and I’m indebted to them for their support.”
Bonnie Paine, Tim Paine’s wife, has spoken out about the former Australian cricket captain’s sexting scandal.
According to Bonnie, she felt betrayed and hurt when her husband admitted his mistakes to her. In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph, she told:
“I have a bit of sympathy for Tim at the moment. A lot actually. He and I went through all of this privately in 2018. It was horrific then, and is really hard, and now.”
“I remember feeling angry because we had a little girl that wasn’t too old. At the same time, Tim and I had been in a long relationship, it’d been 10 years, and God knows we had had our ups and downs, and I don’t claim to be perfect, but I was still completely rocked.”
Bonnie said she and her husband worked hard to put the issue behind them when it first happened, and she is “frustrated” to have to go through it all over again. She said:
“We had all dealt with it. Tim had dealt with the repercussions from Cricket Australia, being scrutinised and investigated, and then he had to tell me and deal with me being upset. Now, it seems unfair that it’s being aired out to everyone else to view and judge.”
